Don’t spread disinformation about new civil code: PM Oli

Kathmandu, August 16

In a vield attack on journalists who have been reporting on various provisions of the new civil code, Prime Minister KP Oli has warned those spreading ‘disinformation’ to stop doing so.

Oli’s comment comes a few hours before the new civil and criminal code comes into effect. The Prime Minister, addressing a programme to welcome new entrants to the NCP, “Misleading propaganda has been spread around the implementation of the civil criminal codes. But this is the law which had been passed by Parliament last year after several rounds of discussion,” Oli said.

He said there was no truth in reportes that doctors would be subjected to life imprisonment if a patient dies in course of treatment.
“It will take time for us to get used to the provisions. But it does not affect anyone in a negative way,” he claimed.

Welcoming the newcomers, Oli said that he hoped they would further help take the party to new heights.
